APW is a professional organization of both women and men in the field of communications. This includes freelance writers, photographers, book authors, graphic designers, broadcast and print journalists, public relations and marketing people. We are a non-profit organzation, affiliated with the National Federation of Press Women and are dedicated to professional development and educational programs. We also offer scholarships, a high school writing contest and statewide writing contest for members.
Rim Country APW has sponsored a Newspaper Literacy workshop, Journaling Workshop at the Time Out Shelter, a seminar about blogging for business, History Writing, How to write a Novel, Children's Book Writing and Illustration Seminar, and other events in Rim Country. Our most recent workshop was a Travel Writing and Photography Workshop. More than 40 writers and photographers attended.
Our goal is to encourage writers, photographers, artists and others to succeed in expressing themselves and sharing their talents with the community. We welcome new members and guest speakers for our programs.
