A Venture in Faith
I have read Carol's nonfiction books, Grandmas on the Go and others. A Venture in Faith: Texas to Alaska, A Road to Recovery is her first fiction book.
Leah, the main character, decides to buy an RV to escape her ex-husband who is stalking her. She manages to get away and heads to Alaska in her RV. She meets several strong women who encourage her and give her hope. She makes it through some mechanical difficulties that would certainly scare a solo traveler. These mechanical difficulties, though, take her to a church camp to wait its repair where she has the opportunity to get to know "Bear," her rescuer. Bear is not at all like he originally appeared to be.
The story is a romance and about Leah finding healing and a return to faith in God. Weishampel's characters are real and the details about RVing and Alaska are grounded in her experience. I recommend it. Click here to read more details and to purchase.
