Meet Jaimie and Alice
Jaimie Hall Bruzenak: Jaimie and her late husband, Bill,
started traveling full-time in 1992. Their object was to travel and
work in beautiful places. Since they did need to earn income, they
worked at a variety of jobs, mainly at national parks. They also sold
Christmas trees, did temporary work, volunteered, and worked for
tourist businesses. Jaimie enjoys exploring each area for its scenic
beauty, its unique cultural and historic heritage by foot, four-wheel
drive, even canoe or kayak.
One of their most satisfying experiences was volunteering at Whispering Hope Ranch,
north of Payson, Arizona. This ranch is home for many rescued animals
including donkeys, llamas, pot bellied pigs, peacocks, horses, cows,
and more. Now these animals give love to visitors of all kinds.
In 2003, Jaimie took a trip to New Zealand with her then 14 ˝-year-old granddaughter, where they traveled for three weeks in a rented camper van.
Bill passed away in 2004. Jaimie continues to travel, first on her own,
now with her husband, George Bruzenak. In 2006 they traveled for almost
six months in Jaimie's Lance camper. Last year they traveled for almost
seven months in their New Horizon 5th wheel trailer.
Jaimie is the author of Support Your RV Lifestyle! An Insider's Guide to Working on the Road, 2nd edition. She is a regular contributor to Workamper News and is the Workamper Viewpoint editor. She has also written numerous articles for RoadTripAmerica.com, RV Life and Escapees magazine. Jaimie co-edits RV Lifestyle Ezine and hosts this Web site with Alice Zyetz. Contact Jaimie.
Alice Zyetz: Alice has lived on the road full-time for ten
years. She has traveled with her husband, who recently passed away,
throughout the United States, Mexico, Canada, and a special trip to the
British Isles in a camper van they rented from a member of the
International Caravanning Association. During their trips, they always
managed to connect with local people through their various interests,
including playing music (guitar and banjo), playing bridge, square
dancing, etc. As a monthly columnist, as well as co-editor, for RV Lifestyle Ezine, Alice continues to ferret out other traveler’s special interests.
While she was traveling, Alice authored You Shoulda Listened to Your Mother: 36 Timeless Success Tips for Working Women,
which grew out of her consulting career as president of In Plain
English Associates, in which she trained business and technical people
to communicate clearly and concisely. Alice has also written Taking the Mystery out of Retiring to an RV.
Alice, former teacher, loves working with others encouraging them to
write their own stories. She leads writing workshops in various parks
as she travels. She and her husband also lead singalongs and
participate in jam sessions wherever they are. Contact Alice.
Joint books: Alice and Jaimie have co-edited RV Traveling Tales: Women's Journeys on the Open Road, and co-authored The Woman's Guide to Solo RVing, and Taking the Mystery out of RV Writing.
