Grandma's on the go
Grandma's on the Go
by Carol V. Weishampel, Ed.D.
Grandma's on the Go is a series of hilarious camping adventures
with Carol's brood. This reasonably sane mom packs up nine of her kids for a
3,000 mile, three-week campinging trip using an old van and a pop-up camper.
When the camper wears out, she trades up to a motorhome, and the family's
adventures continue through 26 states, Canada and Mexico. This book will inspire your
family to make its own memories.
Dr. Carol Weishampel, is a retired teacher who is the single parent of twelve
kids, ten are adopted. She led her oldest daughters through Girl Scouts and
wanted the younger ones to have similar experiences so bought a pop up camper
and hit the road. Later, as the kids grew up and moved out, the camper was
replaced by a series of motor omes. She became an Escapees member and a member
of Campers on Mission in 1998 and has traveled in 48 states, including Alaska,
Mexico and Canada as a volunteer and writer.
